When you think 1950s makeup you might think of Max Factor. To me they just go hand in hand. This charmer is a 1950s lipstick compact. The lipstick container is still inside ( though empty of actual lipstick) , and the sticker on the bottom lets us know this was HI Society, Apricot Frost. It is on a little spring release too, so that's fun. I am not 100% sure if this was a mirrored compact but my guess is yes due to the remains of what appear to be some sort of adhesive inside the lid.  The bottom is stamped with Max Factor, Hollywood, London, Paris. and a USA patent number. Excellent vintage condition. if you don't count the missing mirror and lipstick. There is some tarnish to the finish as befits its age but its very much useable and its age only adds to its charm. 
Measures 2.25" long by about 1.25" wide and is about .75" tall.
